Those eating diets that are high in coconut products have been found to be healthy and trim, despite the high fat concentration in their diet. Researchers have studied populations of two Polynesian atolls, and found that coconut was the chief source of caloric energy in both groups. These results were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. No evidence was found that the high saturated fat intake had a harmful effect in these products.
