Somehow, they manage to be awesome at everything: they are successful, they have satisfied husbands, and very happy families.
Yet a closer look into the picture indicates that not all are as peachy as they may seem. See, in their bid to take care of everyone around them, some superwomen are neglecting to take care of themselves. Sure, they may look every bit as sophisticated as they need to be. However, beneath their well-put makeup is the exhaustion at having to do everything.
Basically, the bottom line is that if you want to have it all, then you have to take care of yourself too! This means taking care of yourself not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

A Fitter You
Being physically fit has many physiological benefits. If you are physically fit, you would have the energy to perform all your demanding duties without tiring out so easily. What’s more, you would also feel more confident, more attractive, and more assertive.
To kick off your journey, allot a specific time per day to exercise. You can opt to park two blocks further down as normal and walk to your office, or you can allot the exercise to the playtime you normally spend with the kids. Whatever the case, try to be active at least for 30 minutes every day.
Next, you have to eat healthy so that you’ll have more energy to power through the day. Remember what your own momma taught you – eat like a king in the morning, eat like a queen in the afternoon, and eat like a pauper in the evening. Drinking just coffee or eating cereals in the mornings won’t cut it – remember that you need the carbohydrates for energy throughout the day, so make sure you eat healthy.
Also, remember to take care of your skin. Use moisturizer and sunblock every day, and make sure that you remove your makeup at the end of the day. This means not skipping this regimen no matter how tired or out of sorts you may feel.
Finally, curb your unhealthy lifestyle choices. This means giving up smoking and excessive drinking. Smoking can cause premature aging and damage your skin, while excessively drinking can only make you feel more bloated.
A Calmer You
With everything that you may have on your plate, you may sometimes feel the urge to just give up and hide somewhere. To keep everything together, you have to be calmer and more at peace with yourself. How can you do that?
You can start by starting each day with a quiet prayer or meditation. Feel thankful that you woke up to another day, no matter what chaos may be waiting for you later on. Then, sit in silence for at least ten minutes. You can focus on your breathing, meditate, or pray, if you are inclined to do that. Whatever the case, just try to start your day in a quiet, and positive note.
Next, take frequent breaks throughout the day so that you don’t get overwhelmed with your work. These short breaks can be in the form of reading a short, relaxing article for ten minutes, or simply going to the pantry to refill your glass. The idea is not to just sit in front of your laptop for eight hours.
Whenever something stressful happens, take a deep breath, and slowly count to ten. As you exhale, tell yourself that you can handle whatever the problem may be. Once you practice this, you will find it easier to deal with stress.
Finally, end your day with another quiet moment. This time, think of what made you happy and what you are thankful for during the day. Once you get into the habit of being happy and thankful at the end of the day, you will find that you would have a more positive outlook in life.
