How would you feel if someone told you that you were putting a cancer forming poison in your mouth every time you brushed your teeth? I just read an article that was published in InvestorPlace which pretty much says thats what we are doing if you use Colgate.
Karl Utermohlen reported that Colgate toothpaste contains a chemical called triclosan. This chemical is known to cause cancer-cell growth. He stated that the FDA approved Colgate Total in 1997 but never has Colgate revealed its toxicology summary on the product until earlier this year.
Ultermohlen stated “ The 35-page report shows that the FDA dismissed some experiments performed on animals; specifically, mice and rats were found to have developed fetal bone malformations.” Bloomberg had three scientist review the FDA’s report, and they believe those malformations are indicative of triclosan’s effect on the animals’ endocrine system”.
Colgate insists that the ingredient can only be a problem in large amounts and users have nothing to fear. Hum, how many times do you brush your teeth in a months time? How long does this poison stay in the body? When is too much too much?
Thats something to think about. Maybe its better to be safe than sorry and switch over to a natural toothpaste. Have you ever read the warnings sign on toothpaste? The next time you go to the grocery store or the market, stop by the toothpaste isle and check it out. Every tube of toothpaste by law has to have the Warnings label on it. It say’s;
“Warnings
Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.”
Gee, if you think about it, maybe there is something other than just fluoride that could be harmful to humans.
