Sooner Than Later

The diagnosis of cancer or any other “life threatening” problem makes one think about things they are not constantly thinking of or had never thought of. I tell all of our patients at New Hope Unlimited, “Cancer has made you become a better person than you were a year ago”. I say that because sometimes we get in a rut and forget to think about what is really happening to us and around us. We forget to stop and think about how wonderful the world, our family and friends are until we think we may not be around. Then we realize how important life really is.  

Steve Jobs has been referred to as the “Father of the Digital Revolution, a “Master of innovation,” a “design perfectionist,” and “the master evangelist of the digital age”. He has also been called “legendary,” a “futurist,” and a “visionary”. Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (neuroendocrine tumor) in 2003. He passed away in 2011. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I love my Apple computer which he had a say in.

I think Steve Jobs must have been a brilliant person, not because he started the Apple company, but because I think he figured out how life should really be lived. He stated;

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma-which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition”.   

Oh if we could all learn that lesson sooner than later.
