Sodium bicarbonate also possesses the property of absorbing heavy metals, dioxins and furans.
It might be it’s actually a combination of the two. There are many other uses for baking soda such as an antacid for short-term relief of an upset stomach, to correct acidosis in kidney disorders, to alkalinize urine during bladder infections and to minimize uric acid crystallization during gout treatment. Many refrigerators will contain an open box of baking soda to purify the air and keep the refrigerator fresh. I know I have a box in mine that gets changed out frequently!
Baking soda will put out a fire, so keep it in the garage and in your car.
It won’t even damage anything else it touches in the process. Carpet can be deodorized, and be sure to use it in the laundry, and even as a household cleanser when mixed with vinegar. This last mixture will even unclog drains. Treat those itchy bug bites and especially poison ivy with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. You might even replace your toxic antiperspirant with baking soda. Haven’t you ever tried brushing your teeth with baking soda and a little salt or hydrogen peroxide? It really does whiten those pearls of yours. Taking 1 tsp. of baking soda in water each night before retiring, is a great way to alkalize your body before bedtime.
Use your imagination and search that Internet. There must be lots and lots of uses out there that we haven’t even begun to imagine. It’s a natural substance and much safer than a lot of that over-the-counter stuff that we all spend our hard earned money on to buy.
